Christian Audio Books and the Bible
There is a huge market for books and it has always been this
way. From the very first flier or pamphlet to the Bible, people
love to read. Even those that elect to read only nonfiction or
self-help books find themselves immersed in someone else's
words. But for those constantly on the go, the time it takes to
sit down a read is often set aside due to other obligations. So
instead of reading they listen to their favorite book.
Christian audio books are not as widespread as fiction but
thanks to new authors this niche is rebounding.
The process of producing Christian audio books
is the same as any book being converted over to audio
format. The publishing company hires a firm to record the
words onto compact discs or into sound files. They hire a
voice actor or actress to read from the book. It is not
unheard of for a famous actor or actress to be hired to
give voice to the book.
It probably is not that surprising what the first Christian
audio books in production was. The Bible is the number one
selling book of all time so it makes sense that it was one of
the earliest transposed onto an audio book cassette.
Unfortunately the sets were very large. That changed with the
advent of digital recording. The audio book on compact disc was
able to condense the information and make it much easier to
keep track of. This meant less changing of tapes and damage to
the material.
Mp3 versions of Christian audio books are now available.
They can be purchased as a compact disc and then uploaded to
the device or they can be downloaded directly from the website.
There are even some organizations and websites that have free
audio books. They might not be the popular books or be of the
highest quality but it does not cost anything to listen to
them.
The most popular Christian audio books have been based on
the Left Behind series written by Tim LaHaye and Terry B.
Jenkins. The children's based series is also available. The
prices are very reasonable and are a great investment for those
seeking quality Christian audio books.
While Christian audio books will never be as mainstream as
other genres there is a rising market for them. They can be
found at all major bookstores and Christian specialty stores.
The prices are very reasonable and great bargains can be
attained when purchasing more than one at a time.
